Mildred's Albert Dock Art Trail

Available every day
A person holding three booklets with the title 'Mildred's Albert Dock Art Trail' in front of the Royal Albert Dock in Liverpool. There is water in the background with boats and buildings under a clear blue sky.

Help Mildred the gallery cat find artworks around the Dock

Mildred, Tate’s art-loving cat, wants you to help her find 6 images of artworks placed around the inner quay of the Royal Albert Dock.

Collect your free Art Trail booklet from Tate Liverpool + RIBA North at Mann Island. Follow the map on the back to find the images of Tate artworks. There’s plenty of space and guidance inside the booklet to encourage our young visitors to create their own amazing art along the way.

Mildred also likes word games! There are 5 letters near the artworks that can be rearranged to spell a word.

The Art Trail is a great way for families to spend time together, doing something that is both creative and active.

These booklets are available from the ground floor. This is a self-led, free, family activity suitable for children aged 7-11. Visitors are encouraged to bring their own pencils to complete the trail.

This activity is inspired by the much-loved children’s book about Mildred the Gallery Cat at Tate, which is available from our shop.

Tate Liverpool is temporarily located at RIBA North, Mann Island, a short distance (425m) along Liverpool’s iconic waterfront. There is step free access to the main entrance. There is a lift to the first floor gallery, or alternatively you can take the stairs.

  • Toilets are located on the first floor
  • The nearest Changing Places toilet is located at the Museum of Liverpool
  • Ear defenders can be borrowed from the front desk
  • Additional seating is also available. Please ask a member of staff if you require assistance.

This activity encourages you to explore the Royal Albert Dock, which includes period features such as cobbles and original Yorkstone paving.
