This collection features drawings and sketches by L.S. Lowry along with his autograph book - featuring autographs and sketches made by L.S. Lowry over many years while visiting his friends. Also in the collection is a painting by Lowry's teacher from the Manchester College of Art, Pierre Adolphe Valette, who was an influential figure in Lowry's artistic career. These items belonged to family friends, Geoffrey S. and Alice Bennett and their son Geoffrey Eric Bennett who donated these materials to the Tate. All of these items have been digitised and are available to browse online.
