Tate Modern Talk

If It Don't Exist, Build It: A Talk with Larry Achiampong

17 April 2025 at 18.30–19.30

Join us for an evening of conversation and celebration with artist Larry Achiampong

Join us as we deep-dive into themes struck from Larry Achiampong's newly released book, If It Don’t Exist, Build It.

Larry Achiampong is one of the most exciting and innovative British artists working today.  His work spans film, sculpture, installation, sound, collage and performance. This conversation touches upon Larry’s influences from pop culture to gaming, while tucking into his personal archives that highlight his experiences as part of the Ghanaian Ashanti diaspora in London.  The talk, moderated by Shay Thompson, will cover Achiampong’s journey, how he’s had to adapt, and the tools he’s cultivated along the way in developing his creative practice.

Following the talk, head to the Corner bar to celebrate the launch of the book, with Larry Achiampong taking to the decks for a DJ set.
